The Lantern Road

by Bram Vesper

The dead leave lights along the road so the living do not lose their way — or so the villagers of Throale have always believed. When the lamps begin to go dark one by one, an aging shepherd and a girl who hears the river speak must follow the last light to its source. A mythic, elegiac journey through a land where every stone remembers a name.
